Moran’s petroleum transportation operations are consolidated under its Seaboard Barge Corporation subsidiary. Seaboard Barge has been a longtime transporter of fuel oil for refiners and electric generating facilities along the U.S. eastern coast and the Gulf of Mexico, and has transported fuel oil from Quebec City and Montreal to Lake Ontario via the St. Lawrence Seaway. The company operates 16 barges carrying a variety of petroleum products, including gasoline and residual fuel oil. The vessels range in capacity from 19,000 barrels to 250,000 barrels. Seaboard continues to expand its fleet in various areas of operation, including inland waterways in the United States, the Pacific coast of the U.S., Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and other regions. Seven of Seaboard’s barges have double-hull designs, meeting the strict requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. |
