We are proud to announce that Master Boat Builders, Inc. based out of Coden, Alabama, has been contracted to build two 86’ x 36’ Z-drive tugboats designed by the experts at Crowley Engineering Services. This is the first time Master Boat Builders will partner with Moran Towing Corporation. Our new design enhances the recent 2019 advancement features to include upgrades in order to meet the latest ABS rules, U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter M regulations, and U.S. EPA Tier IV requirements. The two new tugs will join our fleet of over 85 tugs with the anticipated completion to be mid-year 2024.
Moran Towing Corporation, a 160-year-old marine transportation company based out of New Canaan, CT, with 17 port locations along the East Coast and the Gulf of Mexico has survived and prospered by continuing to invest in technology, responding to the needs of our customers, and diversifying our company to provide comprehensive capabilities to the marine industry. Moran has expanded its services to now include Environmental, Emergency Response, Commercial Diving and Rail services.
